Elsie Glossinger

Elsie F. (Rinas) Glossinger, 88 of St. Joseph, MI, passed away on Tuesday, June 16, 2009, at The Willows in St. Joseph. A funeral service celebrating her life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 22, at Peace Lutheran Church, 3590 Lincoln Ave., St. Joseph, MI. A visitation will be held on Sunday, June 21, 2009, from 3:00 until 5:00 p.m. at the Starks and Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Road, St. Joseph. Elsie was born on December 26, 1920, in Germany to Michael and Elizabeth (Gollnau) Rinas. She married Lester Arnold Glossinger on September 4, 1937 in St. Joseph, MI. She worked close to 20 years for the St. Joseph Public Schools as a food service supervisor. Elsie is survived by her son, L. Michael Glossinger of Danville, IL. She is also survived by her daughter-in-law, Sharon Glossinger and her six grandchildren, Mark Glossinger, Brian Glossinger, Kathy (Doug) Harbert, Lori White, Mary (John) Weinhart, Karen (David) Rutkowski and three great-grandchildren, Michael Harbert, Alexander Harbert and Jack Rutkowski. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, a daughter, Elizabeth Ann “Betsy” White, a brother, Henry Rinas and two sisters, Gertrude Baldwin and Renata Sciortino.
