Steve was born February 7, 1957 in Euclid, OH to Marjorie (Longwinter) and Wallace Correll. After living in Willoughby, OH his family moved to Michigan where Steve graduated from Lakeshore High School. He moved to Dallas, TX and became a well-known restaurant kitchen designer. He was President/Owner of Foodservice Design in Dallas and Member of Foodservice Consultants Society International (FCSI). In the restaurant design industry, Steve was known as “the best in the business.” For many years now Steve was instrumental in the kitchen design for many Company-owned and Franchised locations for Ruth’s Chris Steak House and was considered their franchise group’s designer of choice since 1997. The Ruth’s Chris family valued his expertise and will miss him dearly. He designed more than 40 of their restaurant kitchens all over the U.S., including the local one in Mishawaka, IN. He also designed food service areas for Saudi Arabian airports and over ten Royal Saudi Air Force mess halls in various other locations overseas throughout his career.
He was a loving son and brother who kept in touch with his family back in Michigan. He traveled extensively with his work, and often phoned to share the local sights and his current project with his family. He enjoyed watching the Dallas Cowboys, viewing classic cars, attending air shows, and following NASA/space exploration.
In addition to his parents, Steve is survived by brothers Brian Correll of Nashville, MI and John (Ann) Correll of Stevensville; sister Laurie (Randy) Fish of Stevensville; nephews and nieces Chris Correll, Michelle Correll, Jennifer (Rob) Freridge, Tyler Fish and Maggie Fish; and great-nieces Spring, Summer, and Carolina Correll.
