Lorraine Koern

Lorraine Louise Koern, 83, of St. Joseph, passed away on Tuesday, August 11, 2009 at Lakeland Regional Medical Center in St. Joseph. A funeral service celebrating her life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, August 14, at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, 404 E. Glenlord Rd. in St. Joseph. Burial will follow at North Shore Memory Gardens. Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 13, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Starks and Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Road, St. Joseph Lorraine was born on May 8, 1926 in St. Joseph, MI, to Louis and Anna (Nehring) Stelter. She later married Arnold Koern on September 2, 1950 in St. Joseph. Lorraine enjoyed singing church hymns and being with her family and the friends that she made at Royalton Manor. Lorraine is survived by her two sons, David Koern of St. Joseph and Dale Koern of Bridgman. She is also survived by a brother, Louis Stelter, Jr. of St. Joseph and a sister, Esther Godfrey of Watervliet.
