Mary Ann Andrews-Khan

Mary Ann “Molly” Andrews-Khan, 78 of St. Joseph, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 1, 2009 at her home surrounded by her loving family. A service celebrating her life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 7th at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 914 Lane Dr. in St. Joseph. Funeral arrangements are with Starks and Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Road, St. Joseph. Molly was born on April 30, 1931, in Joliet, IL, to Edward Hutchison and Ruth (Reid) Hutchison. She married Aman U. Khan on July 25, 1994 in St. Joseph, MI. Molly is survived by her husband, Aman Khan and former husband, Robert Andrews and their five children: Stephen (Ann Alden) Andrews of Richmond, VA, Elizabeth Andrews of Stevensville, MI, Douglas (Cynthia) Andrews of Ypsilanti, MI, Mark (Karen) Andrews of Birmingham, MI and Sarah Andrews of Ann Arbor, MI. She is also survived by two sisters, Susan (Edward) Dublin and Carol (William) Gourley, both of Wilmette, IL and sixteen grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Victor Hutchison. Molly lived a generous, beautiful and full life. Her dedication to family, friends and humanity was firmly based on her faith in God. After raising her own children, she taught “her special kids” at Blossomland Learning Center, in Berrien Springs, for fifteen years. Molly was famous for her ever-present sense of humor. Many years ago, while on her hands and knees scrubbing the entryway floor, two religious solicitors knocked on the door asking her, “Have you found Jesus” Without missing a beat, Molly replied, “Gee, have you lost him again?” Molly will be greatly missed on this earth, but is now with her Lord, and at peace. Her family and friends will forever love and remember her for her legacy of unconditional love.
