Roger D. Bishop

Roger Bishop, 62, of St. Joseph, passed away Thursday, July 2, 2009, at his home. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, July 7, 2009 at Starks and Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph with Pastor David Helmuth. Burial will follow at North Shore Memory Gardens. Friends may call from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Monday, July, 6, 2009 at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. Those wishing to share a memory or sign the guest book online may do so at www.starks- menchinger.com. Mr. Bishop was born December 17, 1946 in Augusta, AR to Gene & Dorothy (Thomas) Bishop. He graduated from Lakeshore High School in 1966. As a skilled tradesman he held several advanced certificates that enabled him to reach exclusive positions in his career. Roger worked for Whirlpool and Bosch for many years. In his spare time he enjoyed bird hunting, fishing, the outdoors and being with his family. Mr. Bishop is survived by his son Dale Bishop of Stevensville; two daughters Patti (Alan) Masters of Bridgman and Katie (Robert) Whittker of Coloma; eight grandchildren Stephanie, Heather, Jacob, Brittany, Alex, Justin, Derek, and Samantha; three sisters Delores (Charles) Brunke of Baroda, Gena (John) Marriott of Bridgman, and Judy (Ronnie) Gabbard of Bridgman; former wife Beverly Kelley. In addition to his parents Roger is preceded in death by his sister Phylis Harmon and brother Donnie Bishop.
