Joyce M. Maynard

Joyce Maynard, 76, of Baroda, passed away Friday, April 10, 2009 at her home. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:30 A.M. Wednesday, April 15, 2009 at Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph with Pastor Noffke officiating. Burial will follow at Millburg Cemetery. Friends may call from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Tuesday, April 14, 2009 at the Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Humane Society. Those wishing to share a memory or sign the guest book online may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com. Joyce was born March 24, 1933 in South Bend, IN to James & Esther (Snyder) Tyler. On October 8, 1955 she married Kenneth Maynard in Benton Harbor. He preceded her in death on January 6, 1990. Joyce worked as a Supervisor for Wollin Products for 32 years. Joyce was a member of the Southwest Michigan Car Club and the Black Ace Motorcycle Club. In her spare time she enjoyed spending time with family and friends and especially her dog Cha-Cha. Joyce is survived by her daughter Rebecca (Tapp) (Dennis) Arend of Ann Arbor; two sons Dr. Alan Maynard of Hartford and Richard Maynard of Benton Harbor; one granddaughter Stacy (Todd) Solow of Minnesota; one great grandson Jake Solow of Minnesota; two brothers Bud (Shirley) Tyler of Stevensville and Jack (Ruth) Tyler of Benton Harbor; one sister Beverly Herman of Stevensville; 38 nieces and nephews; and many great nieces and nephews. Joyce was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers Fred Tyler, Harold Tyler and James Tyler Jr. and four sisters Connie Sheehan, Berniece Vance, Louise VanDeVere and Florence Jensen.
