Alice Watson

Alice J. Watson, 83, of Farmersburg, IN, formerly of St. Joseph, MI, passed away on Wednesday, April 15, 2009 at Crittenton Hospital, Rochester Michigan. A Celebration of Life Service will be at 3:00 PM on Saturday, April 18, 2009 at First Presbyterian Church, 475 Green St., Benton Harbor, MI with Laurie Hartzell officiating. Visitation will be prior to the service from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the church. Burial will follow at North Shore Memory Gardens in Coloma. She married the former, John Watson on June 23, 1949 in Farmersburg, IN. Together, they raised a son, John and two daughters, Mary Lee and Patty. Alice was a retired registered nurse with Benton Harbor Schools for over 20 years. Alice was a life long Democrat. She was an avid reader, loved to play golf, knit, cook and camp. Most of all, she loved spending time with her grandchildren and family. Alice is survived by her children, John T. (Deborah) Watson Jr. of Granger, IN, Mary Lee (Deric) Jaques of West Bloomfield, MI, Patty (Tom) Dennis of Rochester Hills, MI; sister, Virginia ‘Pat’ Pirtle of Sullivan, IN, grandchildren, Jeremy, Megan, Shannon, Jessica, David; two great grand children, Abigail and Nolan; one niece and four nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, John in 1987 and her parents, William and Jesse Watson.
