Anne's Obituary

Anne Heyn, 88, of Benton Harbor, passed away Monday, March 23, 2009 in Ann Arbor, MI. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 A.M. Friday, March 27, 2009 at St. John Catholic Church, 600 Columbus in Benton Harbor with Fr. Dan Doctor officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. with a prayer service at 7:00 P.M. Thursday March 26, 2009 at Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Anne was born May 2, 1920 in Benton Harbor, MI to Carlo and Lena (DeMaria) Ciaravino. She graduated from Benton Harbor High School in 1938. On July 25, 1942 she married Clarence Heyn in Benton Harbor. He preceded her in death on March 20, 1974. Anne worked at the Berrien County Courthouse as a secretary for 28 years. She also worked at Twin City Engraving and VM Corporation. In her spare time Anne was an avid bowler and rosarian. She worked full time until the age of 81. Most of all she loved working at the Berrien County courthouse and spending time with her friends. Anne is survived by her son Peter (Lorie) Heyn of Milan, MI; daughter Carla Anne Heyn of Ypsilanti, MI; two grand children Charles B. Heyn of Ypsilanti, MI and Lena M. Heyn of Canton, MI; one brother Jasper (Rose) Ciaravino of St. Joseph; three Godchildren Regina Ciaravino, Anthony Belski, and Andrea Wilson. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by one son Dennis Heyn and three sisters Mary Belski, Katherine Stover, and Frances Ciaravino.
