Josephyne Ferguson

Josephyne “Toni” Ferguson, 68, of Benton Harbor, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, March 18, 2009 at Bronson Methodist Hospital, Kalamazoo. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 A.M. on Tuesday, March 24, 2009 at St. Johns Catholic Church, 600 Columbus, Benton Harbor with Fr. Bill Jacobs officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Benton Harbor. A luncheon will be held at St. Bernards Church after interment. Friends may visit with the family on Monday from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph, MI 49085. In lieu of flowers, the family would like memorials directed to St. John & Bernard Parish. Per her wishes, she was a tissue donor with the Gift of Life. Josephyne “Toni” Ferguson was born on February 16, 1941 to Paul and Josephine (Varisco) Sineni in Benton Harbor, MI. She retired as a manager at Meijers in Benton Harbor. Toni married Albert Ferguson on July 17, 1998 in Benton Harbor. She was the loving mother of four children and seven step-children. Toni was a life long member of St. John and Bernard Parish in Benton Harbor. She enjoyed going to the casino, riding horses, cooking and most of all being part of her grandkids lives. Toni was a loving wife, mother and grandmother whom will be missed by all those whose lives she touched. Toni is survived by her husband of 11 years, Albert Ferguson; her father, Paul Sineni; Her children, Paul (Mary) Genovese of Osceola, IN, Teri (Craig) Shafer of Goshen, IN, Rick Timothy Jannings (Aubrey Sauer) of Mishawaka, IN; step daughters, Laura (Ed) Singleton of Frankfort, IL, Linda Ferguson of Merrillville, IN, Lisa (Nat) Edmonds of South Daytona, FL; Harry, Kent & Bobbi Jannings; Nephew, Chris (Katie Piggot) Jannings of Benton Harbor; Daughter-In-Law, Rose Genovese of Kalamazoo, MI; grandchildren, CJ, Paul, Jordan & Kyle Shafer, Michael & Heather Genovese, Lynn Alison Schueneman, Tony Ferguson, Michele, Michael, Ann & Connie Singleton, Matthew, Nicholas & Lindsey Edmonds, Raymond, Jasen, Brandon & Jennifer Dolph; Grand nieces, Sara & Anna Jannings and Great Granddaughter, Lexi. She is preceded in death by her son, Peter Patrick Genovese II, step son, Johnny Jannings; and her mother Josephine.
