Phyllis J. Sassano

Phyllis J. Sassano, 78, of Bridgman, passed away, Wednesday, March 25, 2009 in Bradenton, Florida. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held 1:30 P.M. Saturday, April 4, 2009 at Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, with Msgr. Michael Osborn officiating. Friends may call beginning at 12:30 P.M. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Poor Clare Colettine Nun’s Corpus Christie Monastery, 2111 S. Main St., Rockford, IL 61102. On March 21, 1950, she married John Sassano. Phyllis cherished the time she spent with her loving husband John of 59 years, her children and grandchildren; and her winters in Bradenton. Phyllis is survived by her husband John; her children-Susan Ullig of Stevensville, Nancy (Ron) Trinidad of St. Joseph, Pete Sassano of Clearwater, FL, Jill Sassano of St. Joseph, John P. Sassano of Stevensville, Jim (Tina) Sassano of Stevensville, Laura (Mike) Camburn of Baroda; eighteen grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents Harry Jordan & Ivy Jordan Dunston, her brother Robert Jordan, and her son-in-law Vern Ullig in 1993.
