Barbara J. Hobbs

Barbara (Wentland) Hobbs, 73., of Watervliet, MI., passed away Thursday, January 8, 2009, at home in Watervliet, MI. A Celebration of Life Visitation will be held from 4:00 until 6:00 p.m. Monday at Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph, MI. Cremation will take place after the visitation viewing. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the “donor’s choice”. She married Robert Hobbs, Sr. on August 25, 1956 in Texas. Barbara worked as an L.P.N. for over 20 years at Memorial (Lakeland Medical) Hospital in St. Joseph. Barbara is survived by seven children, Jeannie Allen of Watervliet, MI., Robert Hobbs, Jr. of Watervliet, MI.; Terry Dawson of Washington D.C. area; William (Brenda) Hobbs of St. Joseph; Laura Butler of Sheyboygan, WI.; Georgia Butler of Galien, MI. and Aleta (Richard) Roberts of Watervliet, MI.. She is also survived by two sisters Bonnie Probst of Eau Claire, MI; Georgia Bodtke of California; and an aunt, Virginia (Bob) Janca of Baroda, MI. Barbara is also survived by 28 grandchildren and 33 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father, Richard Wentland; her mother, Emily (Katzbach) Wentland; her husband, Robert Hobbs, Sr. and one daughter Deborah Roberts.
