Rose M. Ciaravino

Rose M. Ciaravino, 83, of Stevensville passed away Sunday, March 29, 2009 at Lakeland Regional Medical Center in St. Joseph. Rose was born Rose Tragna on August 30, 1925 in Riverside, Michigan. She was the daughter of Dominic and Tina (Virgo) Tragna. On September 8, 1951, she was married to Jasper Ciaravino of Benton Harbor. Rose retired after 15 years of service in the St. Joseph Public School System. She is survived by her husband, Jasper, and six children: Regina Ciaravino of St. Joseph, Carl (Janet) Ciaravino of Richmond, Virginia, Diana (Richard) Birdsall of Northville, Michigan, Dominic (Margrit) Ciaravino of St. Joseph, Jasper Ciaravino, Jr. of St. Joseph, Mary (Douglas) Ingleright of Baroda, 10 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, a sister, Mary Tarantino and brother, Tony Tragna. She was preceded in death by a grandchild, and brother John Tragna. Visitation will be on Thursday, April 2 from 5-7 p.m. with prayers recited at 7 p.m. at Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Road, St. Joseph. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Joseph Catholic Church at 1:30 P.M. on Friday, April 3 followed by burial at Calvary Cemetery. Rose loved helping others and made donations to the food pantry program at St. Joseph Catholic Church. The family has requested that donations be made to the Catholic Community Center in lieu of flowers.
