Violet Wahl

Violet “Lois” Wahl, 79 passed away on Wednesday, March 18, 2009, in Ft. Wayne, IN after a lengthy illness. Visitation will be held from 3:00 to 6:00 pm, on Saturday at Starks and Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd, St. Joseph, MI, a Celebration of Life Service will be held on Sunday, March 22, 2009 at 11:00am at the funeral home with Rev. Winston Decker officiating. The family is requesting that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America. Violet was born July 20, 1929 in Cincinnati, OH, the youngest of 11 children. She married Jack Henry Wahl in 1952. She was an accomplished seamstress, loved to cook, and enjoyed her family, who will miss her very much. She is survived by daughters Laura (Bernie) Lucido, Las Vegas, NV; Kathleen Wahl and Lynne Thompson, both of St. Joseph, MI; sons Mark (Jane) Wahl of Anna, OH; Kirk Wahl and Wayne Wahl of Ft. Wayne, IN; Craig Wahl of Springdale, AR; step-daughter Cheryl Moyer of Blue Springs, MO; 19 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren; and sisters Doris Schomaker of Alexandria, KY; Shirley Thompson and Verna Houser, both of Cincinnati, OH. She was preceded in death by her husband Jack in 1972 and son Karl in 2007.
