Margaret I. (Koehler) Williams, 88, of Eau Claire, passed away on Thursday, February 19, 2009 at her home. A Celebration of Life Service will be at 11:00 AM on Monday, February 23, 2009 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 3713 Naomi Rd., Sodus, MI with Rev. Robert Duehlmeyer officiating. Burial will follow at Spring Run Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family on Sunday, February 22 from 2 to 5 PM at Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph, MI. Margaret was born on March 30, 1920 to Gustav and Amelia (Binger) Gaul in Stevensville, MI. She was married to John (Pete) Koehler until his passing. Her greatest joy was raising her 3 daughters, Lila, Barbara and Betty. She was a devout member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Sodus for many years. She enjoyed knitting and sewing and later taught at the Central County Senior Center in Berrien Springs. Margaret enjoyed tending her garden and loved flowers. Margaret is survived by her daughters, Lila (Jimmie) Jackson of Eau Claire, Barbara (David) Sonnenberg of Coloma, Betty Brady of Coloma; Two sisters, Vera (William) Conway and Irene Ogonowski both of Stevensville; Two brothers, Sam “August” (Jeanette) Gaul of Bridgman, and Arnold (Adeline) Gaul of Stevensville; 8 grand children; 10 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild; and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, John (Pete) Koehler; two brothers, Albert and Herbert; one sister, Louise; a son-in-law, Ronald Brady; two grandsons; one granddaughter; and her parents.
