Margaret's Obituary
Margaret L. Kiewel, 69, of Benton Harbor, went home to her Lord and Savior on Saturday, January 17, 2009 at Royalton Manor, St. Joseph.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday January 22, 2009 at St. Johns Catholic Church, 600 Columbus Ave., Benton Harbor, MI with Fr. Bill Jacobs officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Benton Harbor. A funeral luncheon will be at St. Bernards Catholic Church afterwards. Friends may visit with the family on Wednesday, January 21 from 4:30 PM to 8:00 PM with the Rosary recited at 7:30 P.M. at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to Royalton Manor or Berrien County Cancer Service. Friends wishing to send a condolence may do so at the guest book at www.starks-menchinger.com.
Margaret was born on July 19, 1939 to Frank and Martha (Borkowski) Grzeszczyk in South Bend, IN. She married Michael Edward Kiewel on June 13, 1959 in South Bend. Together they raised 7 children. She was a member of St. Johns Catholic Church in Benton Harbor. Margaret enjoyed sporting events especially Notre Dame Football and the Chicago Bears. She was an avid reader and “free spirit”. Her family was her life. Margaret adored her grandchildren and her great grand daughter. She loved all her friends at Royalton Manor in St. Joseph. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Margaret is survived by her loving husband of nearly 50 years, Michael; her children, Edward (Barbara) Kiewel of Atlanta, GA, Kathleen (Mark) Stoneburner of Scotts, MI, Rachel (David) Thayer of Kalamazoo, MI, Dennis (Lisa) Kiewel of Bridgman, Rebecca (John) Vojtko of St. Joseph, Jennifer (Michael) Duren of Sault Ste. Marie, MI, Sarah (Ben) Burlingame of St. Joseph; 23 grand-children, a great grand-daughter; a sister, Mary Ann (Robert) Williams of South Bend, IN; and several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Martha.
