Edward J. Tokarz

Edward J. Tokarz, 90, of St. Joseph, passed away on Saturday, January 10, 2009 at Lakeland Regional Medical Center, St. Joseph. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:30 A.M. on Wednesday, January 14, 2009 at Living Word Church of God, 6993 Red Arrow Hwy., Coloma, MI with Rev. Windle Davis officiating. Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday from 5:00 PM to 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home and also beginning at 9:30 A.M. on Wednesday at the church. Burial will follow at the service at North Shore Memory Gardens, Hagar Shores. Those wishing to send donations may direct them to the family of Edward Tokarz. He was a confectionery store owner in Chicago, IL before moving to Watervliet in 1946. He was also a chef at New York Central Railroad. Edward worked at Whirlpool for 36 years until retiring in 1983. He was a member of the Living Word Church of God. Edward is survived by his children, Edward (Marilyn) Tokarz of Coloma, Linda Jackson of St. Joseph, William (Patty) Tokarz of Mississippi, Thomas Tokarz of St. Joseph and Bonnie Jewell of Colorado; a sister, Ann of Georgia; 16 grandchildren; and numerous great grand-children. He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, John and sisters, Mildred and Jean.
