Arlene Federighi

Arlene (Sauerbier) Federighi, 88, of St. Joseph, passed away Thursday, November 20, 2008, at her home. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 a.m.Tuesday at the First Congregational Church , 2001 Niles Ave., St. Joseph. Burial will follow the service at Riverview Cemetery. Friends may call from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. on Monday at Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Memorial donations may be made to the church. Arlene worked for many years at the Secretary of State’s office. She was married to Benjamin Jasper who died in 1973 and to C.P. Federighi who died in 1989. Arlene was a member of the Alpha Theta Sorority and was former member of the Red Hat Ladies. Over the years she was active with St. Joseph Public Schools, her church and the girl scouts. She enjoyed bowling at Kelly’s and the Elks Club. In her spare time she loved cleaning the street with her water hose. Arlene is survived by her daughter, Vicki (Thomas) Cook of St. Joseph. She is also survived her three grandchildren and their families. Victor (Candice) Cook and their children Katelin, Rowan and Layton of Cedar Rapids, IA; Kiki (Pete) Gleneski and their three children Holly, Nathan and Bennett of Canton, MI and Matthew (Vikki) Cook and their daughter Micah of Colon, MI. She is also survived by two nieces Lindy Hyldahl of St. Joseph, MI and Mickey Webb of Overland Park, KS. She was preceded in death by her two husbands, her father Walter William Sauerbier; her mother Mina (Roberts) Sauerbier and her two sisters Jean Dalzell and Mary Jane Owen.
