Larry G. Hall, 65, of Eau Claire, passed away Sunday, January 11, 2009 at Borgess Lee Memorial Hospital in Dowagiac.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held 11:30 A.M. Saturday at Chapel Hill United Methodist Church, 4071 Naomi Rd., Sodus. Cremation will follow the service with burial of Larry’s ashes at Riverside Cemetery in Kalamazoo at a later date. Friends may call from 5:00 until 8:00 P.M. Friday at Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, St. Joseph. Memorials may be made to Chapel Hill United Methodist Church. Larry was born July 14, 1943 in Benton Harbor to J. T. & Edna (Sandy) Hall. He graduated from Benton Harbor High School in 1961 and served his country during the Vietnam War in the US Army. Larry retired from Whirlpool Corp in Benton Harbor in 1998. Following retirement, he worked for six years at the Eau Claire Post Office. On April 17, 1993 Larry married the former Phyllis Rutz in Kalamazoo. He attended Chapel Hill United Methodist Church. In his spare time, Larry enjoyed fishing and tending to his vegetable garden.
Larry is survived by his wife Phyllis; three brothers-Terry (Ruth) Hall of San Jose, CA, Jim (Sharon) Hall of Ticonderoga, NY, Walter Hall of Fort Smith Arkansas; three sisters-Diana (Wayne) Seaton of Greenwood, Arkansas, Donna Nobles & Elaine Tharp, both of Anderson, IN; his sister-in-law Virginia (Tom) Cook of Holland, MI; his brother-in-law Marshall Rutz of Silverthorne, CO; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
