Violet's Obituary
Violet H. Eddy, 88, formerly of Benton Harbor, went home to be with her Lord & Savior on Friday, December 12, 2008 at Tendercare Nursing Home, Kalamazoo.
A Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, December 16, 2008 at Saron Lutheran Church, 510 Main St; St. Joseph, MI with Pastor Joan Oleson as celebrant. Burial will follow at Millburg Cemetery. Friends may call on Monday from 6:00 P.M to 8:00 P.M. at Starks & Menchinger Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd; St. Joseph, MI. Violet was born on November 5, 1920 to Oscar and Hulda (Carlson) Lindberg in Covert, MI. She was raised in Benton Harbor and graduated from Benton Harbor High School in 1938. Violet married, the former, Earl Eddy on May 16, 1942 in Benton Harbor, MI. She raised a daughter, Suzanne and two sons, Stephen and Malcolm. She was a long time member of Saron Lutheran Church in St. Joseph, MI. She played softball with Remington Rand and she loved to bowl.
Violet is survived by her daughter, Suzanne (Ron) Brown of San Diego, CA; sons, Stephen (Sherrie) Eddy of Mattawan, MI, Malcolm Eddy of Bonita Springs, FL; Six grand-children, Lori Galvan, Nels Anderson, Lisa Winch, Mark Eddy, Christopher Warren and Elicia Eddy; and fourteen great grand-children; and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Earl in October 11, 1989 and a brother, Byron Lindberg and a sister, Astrid (Blondie) Edelberg.
