Kim Hart Lassiter

Kim Hart Lassiter, 53, of New Carlisle, IN, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, November 25, 2008 at his home. A Celebration of his Life Service will be held at 3:00 PM on Saturday, November 29, 2008 at Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd; St. Joseph, MI with Fr. Dan Doctor officiating. Visitation with the family will be from 1:00 to 3:00 PM before the start of the service at the funeral home. Burial will take place in private at Calvary Cemetery, Benton Harbor. Kim was born on March 27, 1955 to James and Maudell (Hart) Lassiter in Detroit, MI. He graduated from Grand Valley State University with a teaching degree. He was a special education teacher at South Side School in Niles, MI. He married Dory (Ludlam) on August 13, 1983 in Benton Harbor. Together, they raised three children, Ryan, Rachel and Hallie. He loved his Harley Davidson Motorcycles. Kim was a very caring person and will be missed by those who knew him. Kim is survived by his wife, Dory; his children, Ryan, Rachel and Hallie all of New Carlisle, IN; His mother, Maudell Hart of MI; brothers and sisters, Mike (Heather) Ludlam of Montery Center, MI, Bob (Jill) Ludlam of IL, Karen (Stan) Hokanson of MN, Jay Ludlam of IL; mother-in-law, Dorothy Ludlam of Allegan, MI. He is preceded in death by his father, James Lassiter.
