John Pavlick

John Pavlick Jr., 87, of Sodus, passed away on Wednesday December 3, 2008, at Lakeland Medical Center in St. Joseph. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1:00 P.M. Monday at Starks & Menchinger Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Burial will follow the service at Riverview Cemetery. Friends may call prior to the service on Monday from 11:30 until 1:00 P.M. at Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home. Memorial donations may be made to Peace Lutheran Church. John married Jeanne Geisler Pavlick in St. Joseph, MI on June 16, 1942. John was a professional baseball player with the St. Louis Browns. After retiring from baseball he was an accountant with Pearson Construction Company. John was never considered a “joiner”, except for baseball clubs. John is survived by his wife and his two children, a son Jack Pavlick of Sodus, MI and a daughter Linda Kay (Kirby) Burson of Phoenix, AZ. He is also survived by his brother George Pavlick of South Bend, IN; two grandchildren; three great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, John Pavlick Sr. and his mother Frieda (Michael) Pavlick.
