Frank Szygielski

Frank Szygielski, 92, of St. Joseph, passed away Saturday, January 3, 2009 at Royalton Manor in St. Joseph. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 P.M. Wednesday January 7, 2009 at Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph with Pastor Paul Koehneke officiating. A private burial will follow at a later date. Friends may call from 1:00 P.M. until 3:00 P.M. on Wednesday January 7, 2009 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the family. He graduated from Benton Harbor High School. On August 12, 1939 he married Letha “Lee” Leach in Benton Harbor. Frank was a Plant Manager for Michigan Fruit Canners for over 40 years. Frank was a member of the VFW and the Elks 541. In his spare time he enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and was a devoted father and husband. Mr. Szygielski is survived by his wife of 69 years Lee of St. Joseph; one daughter Sherri St. John of St. Joseph; one grandson Wade St. John of St. Joseph; two brothers Bruno Szygielski of Bridgman and Bob (Bonnie) Szygielski of Stevensville; many nieces and nephews. Mr. Szygielski is preceded in death by his parents and one sister Stephanie Vucich.
