Walter Zotsman

Walter Carl Zotsman, 95, of St. Joseph, passed away on Thursday, November 27, 2008 at Lakeland Regional Medical Center, St. Joseph. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Monday at 12:00 PM on Monday , December 1 , 2008 at Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd; St. Joseph, MI with Pastor Wade Panse officating. Burial will follow at North Shore Memory Gardens, Hagar Twp. Visitation with the family will be on Monday from 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM. Walter was born on February 1, 1913 to Carl and Wilhelmina (Bohn) Zotsman in Benton Harbor, MI. He was a retired iron worker from Benton Harbor Malleable. He married his wife, the former, Helen Popke, in Benton Harbor. Together, they raised two sons, Ronald and Dennis. His family was very close to her and he enjoyed spending time with them. Walter is survived by his sons, Donald Zotsman of Benton Harbor and Dennis (Karen) Zotsman of Mount Ulla, N.C; five grand-children, Ronnie, Sherry, Denise, Jeff, Tony; and six great grandchildren, Dustin, Rachel, Becca, Matthew, Brandon and Christopher. He is preceded in death by his wife, Helen (Popke) Zotsman, and his parents.
