Rose's Obituary
Rose Marie (Jakubowski) Van Dyck, 90, of St. Joseph, died Thursday October 16, 2008 at Royalton Manor in St. Joseph, MI.
The family is having a private celebration of life service at Starks-Menchinger Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. A private burial will follow the service. Rose was born August 18, 1918 in Chicago, Illinois to Thomas and Felicia (Wieczorek) Jakubowski. One of three children they were raised in Chicago, Illinois. She graduated from Kelvyn Park High School in 1937. After attending business school she held many secretarial positions throughout her life. She was also a bus driver for Berrien County I.S.D. and owned and operated the Dairy Isle. She was a longtime member of Saron Lutheran Church.
Rose will be remembered for her love of children, her compassion for animals and her enjoyment of gardening.
Rose is survived by a daughter Barbara (Kevin) Soos-Stelter and a stepson Jonathon Stelter. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers.
