Andrew Myers

Andrew A. Myers, 89, of Benton Harbor, formerly of Lawton, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, August 21, 2008. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, August 27, 2008 at 2:00 PM at Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd; St. Joseph with Rev. Tom Abbott of First Presbyterian Church, Paw Paw officiating. Memorials may be sent to Humane Society of S.W. Michigan or Animal Aid. Those wishing to send the family a message of condolence may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com. Andrew was born on July 29, 1919 to Philo and Edna (Johnson) Myers in Paw Paw, MI. He married the love of his life, Edith (Rae) in Lawton, MI on December 14, 1974. Andrew retired from Cyanamid after 30 years. He valiantly served his country in two World Wars in which he was very proud of. Andrew loved to collect antique cars, hats and garden. His family considered him a “jack of all trades” who could fix anything. Andrew leaves behind many friends and was known to have a hug and smile for everyone. Andrew is survived by his wife of 35 years Edie, a daughter, Valerie Grier of Statesboro, GA; three step-children, Kathryn Davis, Mark and Timothy Bury, six grand-children; and sisters, Bernice, Betty, Elsie, and Chloe and many nieces and nephews.
