Eileen Roach

Eileen Roach, 87, of St. Joseph, formerly of Springfield, Ohio & Dallas Texas, passed away, Sunday, October 12, 2008 at Royalton Manor in St. Joseph. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday at First Church of God, 2627 Niles Ave., St. Joseph, with Rev. Robert Confer officiating. Burial will follow at Hickory Bluff Cemetery in Stevensville. Friends may call from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the First Church of God Endowment Fund. Those wishing to share a memory or sign the guest book may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com. Mrs. Roach was born November 21, 1920 in Springfield, Ohio to James W. & Ethel L. (Sibole) Alberts. On May 24, 1940, she married Max Roach in Springfield. In the mid 1950’s, the family moved to El Paso, Texas area to assist with a church planting project. Eileen was employed for many years at Brown & Olds Mechanical Contractors in El Paso as a bookkeeper. In 2000 Eileen & Max moved to St. Joseph. She was a member of the First Church of God in St. Joseph. Eileen worked as a mystery shopper for many local companies both in St. Joseph and in Dallas. She enjoyed traveling with her family, baking cookies, and making candy for many different occasions. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Eileen is survived by her husband Max; her daughter Joy (Don) Janke of Stevensville; three grandchildren-Diane Janke of Park Ridge, IL, Sharon (Brian) Carpenter of Edgewood, NM, Danny Roach of Dallas, TX; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces & nephews. Mrs. Roach was preceded in death by her parents, by an infant daughter Sandra Jean Roach in 1941, by her son David E. Roach in 1995, and by her siblings-Jim, Fred, Paul, Philip, & John Alberts, Elizabeth, Thelma, Madeline Alberts, Virginia Minney, & Dorothy Martin.
