Florence Salent

Florence Salent, 90, formerly of St. Joseph, passed away on Wednesday, December 10, 2008 at Jordan’s Nursing Home, Bridgman. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1:00 P.M on Monday, December 15, 2008 at Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph with Father Bill Jacobs officiating. Friends may call from 12:00 to 1:00 PM prior to the service. Her final resting place will follow at Riverview Cemetery, St. Joseph. Memorials may be made to L.A.D.D. Day Program. She was raised in Wisconsin before moving to St. Joseph, MI. Florence was a longtime resident and volunteer at Jordans Nursing Home delivering newspapers to her fellow residents and friends. She was active with the L.A.D.D. Day program until 2008. She enjoyed reading books immensely. She was a lively and sweet lady, affectionally known as “grandmother”. She will be missed by her friends and those whose lives she has touched.
