Paul's Obituary

Paul J. Cavaness, 70, of St. Joseph, passed away on Tuesday, October 28, 2008 at Lakeland Regional Medical Center, St. Joseph. A Graveside Christian Burial of ashes will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, November 7, 2008 at Calvary Cemetery, Benton Harbor with Fr. Bill Jacobs officiating. Per Paul’s request his ashes will buried next to his wife Arlene (Goldin) Cavaness and companion, “Flossy”. Those wishing to send a condolence message online may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com. Paul was born on March 10, 1938 to George and Zulah (Morse) Cavaness in McClure, IL. He graduated from Benton Harbor High School. Paul served his country in the U.S Air Force during the Korean War. He was a member of St. Bernards Catholic Church in Benton Harbor. Paul enjoyed keeping his trucks clean and running loud. He was a member of the F.O.P in St. Joseph. Paul is survived by his brother-in-law, Ben Mammina of Benton Harbor; a sister, Mary Ellen Johnson of Longmont, Colorado; a niece, Bama Sue Rouse and his daughter and grand daughter all in Florida. He is preceded in death by his wife, Arlene; his parents; three sisters, Hazel Magahee, Sue Kueker, Georgia Mammina and his beloved dog, “Flossie”.
