Donald's Obituary
Donald Lawrick, 80, of Stevensville, went to meet His Lord & Savior, Jesus Christ on Thursday, October 2, 2008 at his home.
A Celebration of his Life will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, October 7, 2008 at First Church of God, 2627 Niles Road, St. Joseph with Rev. Rick Blumenberg and Rev. Bob Confer officiating. Burial will follow immediately after the service at Hickory Bluff Cemetery in Stevensville. Friends may call on Monday from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd; St. Joseph. Memorials may be made to the First Church of God or Hospice at Home. Don was born March 10, 1928 in Benton Harbor to Sam & Florence (Hamlin) Lawrick. He graduated from Benton Harbor High School in 1945. After high school, Donald served in Army Air Force for three years. Don attended Lake Michigan College and extended courses. He worked for the Bendix Corporation for 27 years as purchasing supervisor and retired in 1990. Don met the love of his life, Phyllis, in Minneapolis and they were married on November 28, 1953 and have been married almost 55 years. They have two children, David and Barbara. He was active in his church and loved his family and friends.
Donald is survived by his wife, Phyllis; his daughter, Barbara (Chris) Kotzian of Colorado; his son, David (Sara) from St. Joseph; and 4 grandchildren, Daniel and James Lawrick and Adam and Avery Kotzian.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Elsie Marshall and two brothers, Charles and Richard Lawrick.
