Gerry (Allen) Sample Geraldine (Allen) Sample, 93, of St. Joseph, passed away Tuesday, October 4th, 2008 at her home with her family at her side. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:30 A.M. Friday at Napier Parkview Baptist Church, 245 W. Napier Ave., Benton Harbor. Friends may call from 10:30 until 11:30 A.M. Friday at the Napier Parkview Baptist. Burial will follow at North Shore Memory Gardens. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice at Home. She married Martin Luther Sample on December 30, 1933 in Boydsville, Arkansas. Gerry was a long time member of Napier Parkview Baptist Church. She worked for many years for Imperial Printing and Remington Rand. Gerry is survived by her daughter Barbara (Joe) Matthews of Benton Harbor; grandchild Robyn Duncan of Stevensville and a great grandson Cameron Duncan. She is also survived by two brothers, Ray (Bea) Allen of Champaign, IL and Leon (Joann) Allen of Pocahontas, AK. Gerry was preceded in death by her father Finis Allen; mother Mamie (Corey) Allen; husband Martin Sample; two daughters Blanche Sample and Maizie Sample; and three brothers Elwood Allen, James Allen and Vern Allen.
