Caroline's Obituary

Caroline (Warskow) Patzer, 87, of St. Joseph passed away October 14, 2008 at Lakeland Hospital in St. Joseph. Mrs. Patzer was born May 28, 1921 in South Haven, Michigan, to Albert and Emma (Wank) Warskow. She graduated from South Haven High School in 1939. On October 3, 1948 she married Oscar Patzer in South Haven. They were married 25 years before his passing on January 12, 1974. She was employed at the Benton Harbor Malleable, was a homemaker, and later employed at Majereks Hallmark in St. Joseph. She enjoyed her flowers, baking and sewing. She was a member of St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church. Mrs. Patzer is survived by her sister Irma Overhiser of South Haven, sister-in-law Eleanor Warskow of South Haven; by two daughters Pamela (David) Espinoza of Portage, Michigan, Kathryn (Kenneth) Conrad of Stevensville, Michigan; two sons James (Virginia) Patzer of Ellicott City, Maryland, Robert Patzer of Benton Harbor Michigan; and 9 grandchildren. In addition to her husband Oscar, she was preceded in death by her parents and a brother Louis Warskow of South Haven. Friends may call at Starks and Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Road, St. Joseph on Thursday October 16, 2008 from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church on Friday October 17, 2008 at 11:30 A.M. with Rev. Weigand officiating. Burial will follow at Crystal Springs Cemetery, Benton Harbor. Memorials may be made to St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church, Michigan Lutheran High School or donor’s choice.
