Ann Marie Genther

Ann M. Genther, 64, of Coloma, formerly of Baroda, went to her heavenly home following a long, courageous battle with cancer on Tuesday, August 5, 2008 at her home. A Celebration of Life Eternal will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, August 9, 2008 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 2673 W. John Beers Rd., Stevensville, with Rev. Gerald Schroer & Rev. Jonathan Kruschel officiating. Burial will follow at Ruggles Cemetery in Baroda. Friends may call from 5:00 – 8:00 P.M. Friday at Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Ann was born January 10, 1944 in St. Joseph to George & Hertha (Tollas) Burtzlaff. She graduated from Bridgman High School in 1962. In August of 1963, she married Edward F. Heyn. He preceded her in death in October of 1994. Ann was employed as a purchasing agent at Quality Mold & Engineering in Baroda, retiring after 18 years. On April 22, 2000 she married Jack L. Genther of Hagar Shores. Ann was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Stevensville. She enjoyed tending to her flower garden, traveling, fishing, shopping, and spending time with her family. Ann is survived by her husband Jack; two sons-Edward (Tammy) Heyn, Jr., Steven (Julie) Heyn, both of Baroda; her daughter Suzanne (Duane) Tolsma of St. Joseph; her brother George (Sharon) Burtzlaff of Indianapolis, IN; three step-children-Brenda (Greg) Ives of St. Joseph, Darrin (Kerry) Genther of Coloma, Teri Meyers of Coloma; fifteen grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. In addition to her husband Edward, she was preceded in death by an infant daughter Christine in 1969, and by her parents-George & Hertha Burtzlaff.
