Harvey's Obituary

Harvey C. Pallas, 90 of Stevensville Died Wednesday June 18, 2008, at Royalton Manor. A celebration of his life eternal will be held at 11:30 A.M., Tuesday, June 24, 2008, at St. Paul’s Lutheran church, 2673 W. John Beers Rd., Stevensville, with Rev. Gerald Schroer officiating. Burial will be in Lincoln Township Cemetery. Friends may call from 3:00 – 7:30 P.M., Monday, at Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Harvey was born to Otto and Minnie (Haase) Pallas at their farm in Stevensville, on October 8, 1917. He graduated from Stevensville High School in 1935 and played on the state championship basketball team. On February 11, 1940, he married Phyllis Wickwire at St. Paul’s Lutheran Parsonage. He was an avid baseball fan and player. Harvey played for the House of David ball team, and played AAA ball, and was also a Cubs fan. He was as on the St. Paul’s Lutheran church dart team and enjoyed hunting rabbits and pheasants. He is survived by his wife, Phyllis of Stevensville; daughter, Sharon Geisler of Stevensville; three sons, Harvey Pallas of Stevensville, Richard Pallas of Stevensville and Ron (Eileen) Pallas of Baroda; 5 grandchildren; 6 step-grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; and 12 step-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Donald Geisler; 2 brothers, Herbert Pallas and Otto Pallas, Jr.; and sister, Catherine Barker.
