Frank Hoffmann, 76, of Stevensville, MI, died Saturday, August 30, 2008 at St. Anthony Memorial Health Center, Michigan City, IN. Arrangements have been entrusted with Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, St. Joseph, MI. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Wednesday, September 3, 2008, 10:00a.m., at Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, St. Joseph, MI, with Pastor Dean Pickett officiating. Burial will follow at North Shore Memory Gardens. Visitation is on Tuesday, from 5:00-7:00p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Diabetes Association. He came to this country and settled into this area in 1952. He was retired from Heath Company (1994) after working for more than 40 years as a lift truck operator in the shipping and receiving department. Frank was a life-member of the Benton Harbor Moose Lodge; a former member of the St. Joseph Kicker’s Club; he attended St. Joseph Catholic Church; was and avid bowler, he loved to gamble and was a huge Detroit sports fan; Frank had also bartended for many years at the Welcome Inn in Stevensville. Frank is survived by his children-Renee (Denver) Nower, Anthony (Saundra) Hoffmann and Joseph (Nancy) Hoffmann, all of St. Joseph; three grandchildren-Jerry, Heather and Kasey; two great grandchildren-Gabriella and Abigail; a brother-Wilhelm (Sharon) Hoffmann of Coloma, MI; a sister-Mitzi Garrigan of Denver, CO; and an aunt-Elizabeth Guldan of St. Joseph. He is preceded in death by his parents-Frank and Maria; and a sister-Rose Hamon.
