Hillard Ambrose

Hillard “Corky” Ambrose, 74, of St. Joseph, passed away with his family by his side on Friday, May 1, 2008, at home. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be celebrated at his home in St. Joseph on Monday, May 5, 2008 at 1:00 PM. Rev. Mark Callaway will officiate. Hillard was born on March 13, 1934 in Tulsa Oklahoma to John and Clara (Henderson) Ambrose. He was a member of Road To Life Church on Niles Road. He valiantly served his country in the Korean War. “Corky” loved to play golf and bowl. He thoroughly enjoyed flying small aircraft in his spare time. “Corky” was a musician and music lover who enjoyed playing the guitar and banjo. He loved spending time with his family. Hillard is survived by his lovely wife of nearly 53 years, Dallene; his children, Leslie (Mark) Callaway of Rensselaer, Indiana, Dallas (Lisa) Ambrose of Watervliet, Robin (Tom) Spitters of Benton Harbor, and Chad (Amy) Ambrose of Oklahoma City, OK; twelve grand-children and one great grandchild and eight brothers and two sisters. He is predeceased by his parents John and Clara.
