George E. Bowers

George E. Bowers, 64, of St. Joseph, passed away peacefully Thursday, May 15, 2008, at his home. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday at St. Joseph First United Methodist Church, 3003 Leco Ct. in St. Joseph. Friends may call from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Sunday with a memory sharing time at 7:00 P.M. at Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd. St. Joseph. Memorials may be made to Berrien County Cancer Service or Hospice at Home. On March 2, 1968 he married Marcia Heyns in St. Joseph. George was a Superintendent of Streets and Sanitation for the Public Works of St. Joseph. George was a member of St. Joseph First United Methodist Church for many years. In his spare time he enjoyed being a handyman, angler, hunter, taxidermist and gardener. George was a support to his wife Marcia, a father and best friend to his children Mark & Jodi, a side-kick to his grand-daughter Lilli and a buddy to his grandson Cooper. Mr. Bowers is survived by his wife Marcia Bowers; his mother Helen Bowers; one son Mark (Heidi) Bowers; one daughter Jodi (Shane) Price; and two grandchildren Lilli & Cooper Price; and many friends he called his family. Mr. Bowers was preceded in death by his father George E. Bowers.
