Ella's Obituary
Ella Selma Schulz, 93, of St. Joseph, passed away Wednesday, April 30, 2008, at her Home.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday at Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Road, St. Joseph with Rev. Thomas Batsky officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery. Friends may call from 10:00 until 11:00 Friday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church. Mrs. Schulz was born November 28, 1914 in St. Joseph, Michigan to Elias & Pauline (Lusch) Ryll. She Graduated from Bridgman High School in 1933. On June 30, 1934 she married Ewald “Jake” Schulz in Stevensville. Ella and her husband were the owners of Tucker’s Fishery in Benton Harbor for many years. Ella was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. In her spare time, she enjoyed working in her rose garden, shopping and most of all spending time with her family and especially her grandchildren.
Mrs. Schulz is survived by her three sons Terrill Schulz of St. Joseph, Thomas (Judy) Schulz of Sparta, MI, Kenneth Schulz of Lansing, MI; three daughters Carla Kirby of St. Joseph, Bonnie Schulz of St. Joseph & Nancy Schulz of Benton Harbor; one brother Ted (Shirly) Ryll of St. Joseph; 10 grandchildren and 14 great- grandchildren; In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband Ewald “Jake” Schulz; one son Michael Schulz; one daughter Karen Tomlinson; two sisters Evelyn Knight and Lillian Martin; and one grand-daughter Donna Kirby.
