Guenther was born August 20, 1931, in Germany. He was one of three sons born to Julius and Minna Boehm. Guenther immigrated to the United States in 1958. On September 20, 1958, he married Linda Schwarz. Together they had four children, Peter, Fred, Lori and Tina. Guenther became a United States citizen on October 29, 1980 – an accomplishment he was very proud of. He was a long-time member of Oakridge Baptist Church. Guenther thoroughly enjoyed fishing and “tinkering in his workshop.” Most of all, Guenther cherished time spent with his family and particularly with his grandchildren.
Guenther is survived by his wife Linda of nearly 50 years; children, Peter (Lisa) Boehm of St. Joseph, Fred (Ella) Boehm of Waukesha, WI, Lori (Stuart) Ries of Louisville, KY, and Tina (David) Forker of St. Joseph; seven grandchildren, Phillip, Jasmine, Megan, and Michael Boehm and Cassandra, Karlee, and Andraya Forker; and by two brothers, Reinhold of Ontario, Canada and Herbert Boehm of Germany.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
