Susan Marlene Jewell

Susan (Wolske) Jewell, 54 of Benton Harbor, passed away after a lengthy illness on March 22, 2008, at Lakeland Hospital, St. Joseph. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Wednesday, March 26, 2008, at 10:30 A.M. at Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph, with Rev. Dr. Robert Vickroy of Dowagiac Calvary Bible Church officiating. Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Shanghai Cemetery, Pipestone Twp. Memorial donations may be made to St. Anthony Hospital (Dialysis Unit) of Crown Point, IN. Those wishing to share a memory online may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com. Susan was born on February 19, 1954 to Alvin and Hildegard (Podzuweit) Wolske in St. Joseph. She graduated from Benton Harbor High School in 1972. Susan married Michael Jewell on May 15, 1976 in Benton Harbor. She thoroughly enjoyed sewing and loved tending her garden. She is survived by her husband of 31 years, Michael; her mother, Hildegard (Podzuweit) Wolske; mother-in-law, Virginia Jewell; sister-in-law Nancy (Bill) Holverson; brother-in-law, John (Laurie) Jewell; sister-in-law, Cynthia Watson; brother-in-law, Daniel (Leann) Jewell; and several cousins, nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her father, Alvin Wolske on December 8, 2002.
