Carolyn “Carrie” Ott, 51, of Buchanan, passed away Wednesday, April 02, 2008 at her parent’s home in Baroda following a brief illness. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:30 A.M. Saturday at Christ Lutheran Church, 4333 Cleveland Ave., Stevensville, with Rev. Philip Quardokus officiating. Cremation will follow the service. Friends may call from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. Friday at Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Memorials may be made to Christ Lutheran Church or Hospice at Home. Those wishing to share a memory or sign the guest book online may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com. Carrie was born June 30, 1956 in Benton Harbor to Carroll & Milly (Svorec) Ott. She graduated from St. Joseph High School in 1974, and attended Brooks College of Design in Long Beach, CA. She worked for a time in the family business, Carroll Ott Construction. Carrie previously owned & operated Curios Rock & What Not Shop in Sawyer, and currently owned & operated Cover Girls Upholstery in Buchanan. Carrie was an amazing craftswoman. There was nothing that she couldn’t do in helping her father. She had a passion for pets, gardening, decorating and nature. She enjoyed dancing, cooking Mexican food, and making jewelry. She especially enjoyed the time spent with her family and friends. Carrie is survived by her parents Carroll & Milly Ott of Baroda; her sisters-Penny (Pete) Haldy of Bridgman, Cathy (Dave LaForge) Ott of St. Joseph; her brother-John (Shelia) Ott of St. Joseph; nieces-Jesse (Jess) Holston, Cheryl (Chris) Thompson, Jenny Gillespie, Andrea Haldy, Ella Ott; great nieces & nephews-Colette & Max Holston, Ethan & Bella Thompson, & Allie Gillespie; and her special friend Dennis Davis of Buchanan. She will be deeply missed by her loving family & friends.
