Ruth Ann Valenti

Ruth Ann Valenti, 77, of Benton Harbor passed away Sunday, April 13, 2008, at Sunset Shores Assisted Living. A Celebration of life will be held 10:00 A.M. at Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd, St. Joseph with Fr. William Jacobs Jr. officiating. Entombment will follow at North Shore Memory Gardens. Friends may call from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral home. Mrs. Valenti was born January 27, 1931 in Eau Clare, Michigan to Wendell & Gladys (Bishop) Waldo. She graduated from Eau Clare High School. On July 29, 1950 she married Nathan Valenti in Eau Clare. Ruth worked as a bookkeeper with Benton Harbor Area Schools for many years. She was also a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. In her spare time she enjoyed sewing, baking and spending time with the family. Mrs. Valenti is survived by her husband Nathan Valenti of Benton Harbor; two sons Victor ( Rosa) Valenti of Shelby Twp., MI. and John (Cynthia) Valenti of Laingsburg MI; two daughters Susan (Michael) Single of Holly, MI and Lori (Thomas) O’Malley of Scotts, MI; three sisters Bernice, Jean and June; and eight grandchildren Anthony Valenti, Vittoria Valenti, Dean Valenti, Megan Single, Nathan Single, Natalie Single, Kevin O’Malley and Kristin O’Malley; Ruth was preceded in death by her parents and six brothers.
