Robert E. Thomsen

Robert E. Thomsen, 75, of Florida, formerly of Ann Arbor, died Tuesday, June 17, 2008 at Florida Hospitals in Orlando. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, June 23, 2008, at Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph, with Father Dan Doctor officiating. Burial will be in North Shore Memory Gardens, Coloma. Visitation is from 6:00 – 8:00 PM, Sunday, June 22, 2008, at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society. He served his country in the US Navy. Bob married Patricia Flood on October 2, 1981 in Ann Arbor, MI. He attended Northrop Institute and retired from Lucent Technologies as a Data Technician. He loved sailing and woodworking and was a wonderful loving husband and father. He was a great story teller and never met a stranger. Bob was like a brother to his in-laws and will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Bob is survived by his wife Patricia; children Christi (Joseph) Mignano, Julie (Raymond) Szymoniak, Diana (Brad) Lupkes; grandchildren Christine (Timothy) Peiter, Kate (Adam) Taylor, Joseph F. Mignano, Mike Mignano, Anne Mignano, Raymond Szymoniak, III, Jason Szymoniak, and Cole Lupkes; great-grandchildren Jacqueline Taylor, Joe Taylor, Jackson Peiter, and Sophie Pieter; and many nieces and nephews.
