Ewellene Keltner-Wright

Ewellene Keltner-Wright, of Sawyer, passed away Wednesday, February 13, 2008 at her home. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:00 A.M. Monday at Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph, with Mr. Chris Dawson officiating. Burial will follow at New Troy Cemetery. Friends may call from 6:00-8:00 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Benton Harbor Church of Christ on Empire Ave. or Animal Aid. Those wishing to share a memory or sign the guest book online may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com. Ewellene was born August 23, 1933 in Harrisburg, Arkansas to Wilson & Edna (Irby) Caraway. On September 29, 1952 she married Tony Keltner in Berrien Springs. He preceded her in death in 1980. On April 8, 1984, she married Charles D. Wright in St. Joseph. He preceded her in death in 2003. Ewellene was a loving & faithful wife, mother & grandmother. She was a member of the St. Joseph Church of Christ. Ewellene enjoyed flower gardening and feeding the animals around her home, including the possums and raccoons. Ewellene is survived by her daughters-Debbie (Jerry) Mabry of Bridgman, Saundra (Stan) Morgan of Benton Harbor, Leann (Keith) VanderPloeg of Bridgman; two step-children-Charles Wright of St. Joseph, Janny Warman of Benton Harbor; five grandchildren-Michael (Chelsea) Siemon, Shaya (Michael) Pethe, Corrin (Chris) Dawson, Brandye VanderPloeg & Ashlynn VanderPloeg; two step-grandchildren Adam Wright & Audrey Wright two great-grandchildren-Ava Elizabeth Dawson, & Eric Anthony Siemon (Due in April); two brothers-Eugene Caraway of Arkansas, Bobby (Jan) Caraway of Texas; two sisters-Bonnie (Elvin) Mendenall of Florida, Barbara Gardner of Michigan; her brother-in-law-Glen Gardner of Michigan; and many nieces & nephews and great nieces & great-nephews. In addition to her husbands, Ewellene was preceded in death by her father in 1986, her mother in 1999, her grandson Anthony Keltner in 1991, and her brother Terry Caraway in 1992.
