Gerald L. Casserly, 72, of St. Joseph, passed away on Thursday, March 27, 2008, at Lakeland Medical Center, St. Joseph.
Visitation with the family will be from 5:30 to 8:00 P.M. on Thursday, April 3, 2008, at Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Gerald was born on April 26, 1935, in Mahanoy City, Pennsylvania, to Mathew and Margaret (Streisel) Casserly. He married Elouise Lindsey
on December 14, 1960, in Benton Harbor. Gerald retired from the Barentsen Candy Company in Benton Harbor after 30 years. He was a lifetime member of the St. Joseph Elks Club 541. He dearly enjoyed his friends. He especially enjoyed being with his family and his second family, James and Pauline Ross.
He is survived by his wife, Elouise; a son, Scott (Karen) Casserly of Nappanee, IN; and a granddaughter, Madison Casserly.
Gerald was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers, Matthew Casserly, John Casserly, Joe Casserly, and Jim Casserly.
