Barbara's Obituary
St. Joseph – Barbara J. Davison, 63, of St. Joseph, passed away February 14, 2008, at Memorial Hospital in South Bend, IN. Arrangements have been entrusted to Kerley-Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, St. Joseph, MI.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, February 20, 2008, at First Assembly of God Church, 3084 Niles Road, in St. Joseph, with Pastor Dan Miller officiating. Burial will follow at Hickory Bluff Cemetery in Stevensville. Visitation with the family will be from 5:00 to 8:00, Tuesday evening, February 19, at Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Road, in St. Joseph. Barbara was born December 4, 1944, in Benton Harbor. She was the oldest of four children born to Alva and Janice Doan. She attended Benton Harbor High School. On June 30, 1962, she married Kenneth Davison in Benton Harbor. Together they had two daughters, Sharon and Kim. Barbara enjoyed being active in the missions work at First Assembly of God Church. Barbara and her husband took many mission trips to Peru, South America, where she particularly enjoyed working with the children of the streets there. Time spent with her family and particularly her grandchildren was most important to her. “All her children enjoyed her cooking very much.”
Barbara is survived by her husband Kenneth of 45 years; her daughters, Sharon (Brian) Brant of Stevensville and Kim (Jeff) Whitlow of Granger, IN; four grandchildren, Dustin & Brandon Pratt and Taylor and Kyle Whitlow; her parents, Alva and Janice Doan; and by her three brothers, Gary (Debbie) of Florida, Dennis of Benton Harbor, and Darryl (Sandy) Doan of Stevensville.
