Beatrice Wesner

Beatrice Wesner, 81, of St. Joseph, passed away at her home Sunday, May 11, 2008. Beatrice was born January 8, 1927, in Brooklyn, NY, and graduated with a degree in Liberal Arts from Barnard College in New York City. She worked for several years as an administrative assistant at Lake Michigan College before accepting a position as executive assistant with British Petroleum in Chicago. After moving with the company to Lexington, KY and Cleveland, OH, Mrs. Wesner retired to St. Joseph in 1991. An accomplished pianist, she enjoyed a second career following her retirement as a well-loved and respected piano instructor to many students in the Lakeshore and St. Joseph school districts. She is survived by her daughters Sunny (Tom) Palmisano of Jackson, MS, and Paula (Greg) Taylor of Lancaster, PA; her two grandsons Jordan and Matthew Taylor also of Lancaster; her sister Helen (Bob) Phillips of Redwood City, CA., as well as several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Cascio, of Walnut Creek, CA. Cremation was held at Starks and Menchinger in St. Joseph.
