Steven A. Koch, 55, died suddenly at home on January 12, 2008. Arrangements have been entrusted to Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, St. Joseph, MI. A Celebration of Life visitation will be held on Thursday, January 17, 2008, from 5:00 P.M to 7:00 P.M. at Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd, St. Joseph, MI. A private Celebration of Life service led by Rev. Brian Rumer will be held the following day. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the American Heart Association or Boys & Girls Club. Steven was born on December 24, 1952, in Pensacola, FL, to Alan and Georganna (Obrecht) Koch. He graduated from Valparaiso University with a business degree. Steven had an illustrious 33 year career in the banking industry working his way to manager and vice president. He held positions with several leading financial institutions in the area, specializing in business banking development. Steve was very active in support of youth, civic and The Arts Programs. He served on the Board of The Krasl Arts Center and he was past president. Steven served as a leader for junior achievement on board for The Boys & Girls Club He is survived by his daughter, Kimberly Koch of Washington, D.C., stepson, Jason (Tammy) Ackerman of St. Joseph; sister, Beth (Loren) Paulson of Evansville IN; his parents, Alan and Georganna Koch; 2 step-grandchildren; and 5 nieces and nephews.
