Ciro's Obituary

Bridgman – Ciro T. Farina, 60, of Bridgman, passed away on Wednesday morning, January 30, 2008, at Lakeland Regional Medical Center in St. Joseph. A memorial service celebrating his life will be held Saturday, February 2, 2008, at 2:00 P.M., at the Stevensville American Legion Post 568, 3093 Johnson Road, in Stevensville. Msgr. Michael Osborn will be offering prayers. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Stevensville American Legion. Friends may send the family a condolence message or sign the guest book on-line at www.starks-menchinger.com. Ciro was born to Russell and Concetta “Tina” Farina on September 19, 1947, in Chicago. His family moved to Sodus in 1955 where his parents owned the Sodus IGA. He graduated from Benton Harbor High School in 1966. Ciro proudly served his country from 1966 to 1970 in the U.S. Navy. He married Charlene Mc Clure on August 18, 1972 in Bridgman. Together they had two children, Cristy and Tony. He recently retired from Pepsi Cola Bottling Group after 27 years of service as a Vending Technician. Ciro was proud to be active in the Stevensville American Legion and of his time as their Service Officer. He was also known around Bridgman for his participation as a coach and official in various sporting events. Ciro was the “biggest Notre Dame fan north of the boarder.” Ciro is survived by his wife Charlene of 35 years; by his children, Cristy Lindeman of Howell, MI and Tony Farina of Jackson; three grandchildren, Alexis Martin, Emma Farina and Rachel Farina; his sister, Fortunate (Richard) Stockwell of Benton Harbor; two nephews; one niece; and by “numerous friends from around the state.” Ciro was preceded in death by his parents.
