Edna's Obituary

Edna B. Sonnichsen, 79, of Muskegon, passed away on December 27, 2007 at Mercy General Hospital in Muskegon, Michigan. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, January 2, 2008 at St. Pauls Lutheran Church in Stevensville. Pastor Gerald Schroer will be officiating. Burial will follow at Ruggles Cemetery in Baroda. Friends may call from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Tuesday at Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Edna was born on October 28, 1928 in Bertrend Township, Michigan to Fannie May (Dawson) Brant and John Madison. She married Gilbert F. Sonnichsen in Woodlake, Minnesota on October 25, 1948. Edna was a plastic mold machine operator at Wollin Products retiring in 1990. She enjoyed bowling and was president of the Southwest Michigan Bowling Association for many years. Her family was very close to her and she enjoyed spending time with them. She enjoyed needle point and embroidering “pillow dolls” as well as watching game shows especially Wheel of Fortune, Jeopardy and The Price Is Right. Edna is survived by her children, Rhonda (Rick) Hennen of Lawton, OK, Gilda J. Sonnichsen of Muskegon, MI, Charles (Colleen) Sonnichsen of Oakdale, MN, and Steven J. Sonnichsen of Muskegon, MI; nine grand-children and twenty great grand-children. She was preceded in death by her husband Gilbert in 1990; a son William Sonnichsen and her siblings, Frances Sparks and Lyle Brant, Charles Brant and Beatrice Good.
