Charles Edward Fleming

Charles Fleming St. Joseph – Funeral services will be held in St. Joseph and the Metro Detroit area for Charles (Chuck) Fleming, 64, who died Dec. 18, 2007, in his Watervliet home, after a year-long battle with lung cancer. He is survived by his wife, Sandra, of 43 years; and three sons – Charles III (Laura), Chandler (Victoria), and Jeffery (Kendra). Also surviving are nine grandchildren – Charles IV, Emily Kate, William, Madeline, Chandler Michael, Anne, Ethan, Matthew and Andrew; his mother, Lillian; a sister, Susan; and a brother, Roger. The family will be receiving friends at 1 p.m. Dec. 28, at the Starks & Menchinger Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Road, St. Joseph, with the funeral service at 2 p.m. The next day, on Dec. 29, the body will lie in state at St. Clair Shores Assembly of God Church, St. Clair Shores, Mich., from 1 p.m., with the funeral service at 2 p.m. He will be cremated. Mr. Fleming was born Nov. 12, 1943, in Fleming, Ky. He was a Christian and a member of First Church of God, Niles Avenue, St. Joseph. He was an avid golfer. Mr. Fleming was a retired automotive executive. He had a career that spanned more than four decades in the automotive supply industry and traveled extensively in Europe, China, South America and Mexico. He was with the Bosch Corp., and its predecessor companies, for 40 years. Mr. Fleming lived and worked in the Johnson City, Tenn., area from 1980-2002. In his last position he was quality manager of the chassis division of the Robert Bosch Corp. in St. Joseph and was vice president of operations for Global Rush of Holland, Mich., and owned his own consulting company, Quality Basics in St. Joseph. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Charles Flemings’ name to the Berrien County Cancer Service.
